Pàu is a Verified Partner of Craft CMS
Digital projects require solutions that not only meet technical requirements but also provide a superior user experience, security, and flexibility. That’s why Pàu is proud to recently become an official ‘Verified Partner’ of Craft CMS, a powerful content management system rapidly gaining popularity in the professional landscape. But what exactly does this partnership entail, why is it relevant, and most importantly, what does it mean for your organization?
What does the ‘Verified Partnership’ entail?
Becoming a Craft CMS Verified Partner isn’t just a formality. Michael Thomas, our head of engineering | CMS Expert at Pàu Studio, explains:
“The partnership came about through a proven successful collaboration with Pixel & Tonic, the creators of Craft CMS. Any company aiming for Verified Partner status undergoes an extensive audit and must invest at least 1,000 hours annually in Craft CMS projects. This proves that your organization has both deep technical expertise and the strategic capabilities needed to support clients using Craft CMS.”
This status means Pixel & Tonic recognizes us as an agency with profound experience, proven cases, and robust technical skills. It’s more than a badge — it’s a quality label.
Why did Pàu choose this partnership?
For Pàu, the Verified Partnership means much more than just recognition. It’s a strategic decision to invest in technology we truly believe in, both as an agency and for our clients.
“We aim to show clients that with us, they’re not getting standard solutions but a real strategic partnership that maximally supports their digital ambitions. Official recognition by Craft CMS strengthens our credibility and demonstrates our commitment to staying ahead of innovation and trends in digital development. Additionally, we are invited to shape the future of the platform, with developers from our team even serving on the Craft CMS advisory board.”
A brief history of Craft CMS
Craft CMS was developed by the American company Pixel & Tonic, founded by Brandon Kelly. Introduced in 2012 as an alternative to established systems like WordPress and Drupal, Craft CMS was designed from the ground up to provide developers and content managers with an intuitive and powerful experience.
Craft CMS is known for its clean interface, developer-first approach, and focus on security, scalability, and tailored content structures. Currently built on PHP using the Yii framework, Craft CMS will transition to the Laravel framework with Craft CMS 6 (expected in 2025), opening up new possibilities for extensions and accelerated development.
Why Craft CMS?
1. Flexible architecture
Craft CMS is not a “one size fits all” platform. Unlike WordPress or Drupal, Craft CMS does not provide predefined templates or structures. Developers have the freedom to build the entire structure themselves, ensuring the solution fully meets the specific needs of your organization.
2. Superior author experience
Craft CMS places significant emphasis on the content editor’s experience. Everything is designed with the end-user in mind. Content editors can easily create pages, manage navigation, or adjust components without any technical knowledge.
3. Security as a core value
Unlike WordPress, which frequently encounters security issues due to third-party plugins, Craft CMS offers a robust foundation within a closed ecosystem, significantly reducing vulnerabilities. Plugins are verified by the Pixel & Tonic team before they appear in the plugin store.
4. Ready for headless and hybrid builds
Craft CMS supports traditional implementations, as well as fully headless or hybrid setups through GraphQL and RESTful APIs, making it perfect for integration with mobile apps, IoT devices, or complex enterprise solutions.
5. API integrations and scalability
Craft CMS integrates seamlessly with external systems, including ATS systems, e‑commerce platforms, and PIM solutions. Whether XML feeds, JSON files, or custom APIs — Craft CMS is built for integration.
Craft CMS in action: the Go4Jobs case
A compelling example is our collaboration with Go4Jobs, one of Flanders’ largest recruitment agencies. Their challenge? Developing an integrated digital solution where vacancies from their ATS would automatically and accurately display on their website, including the ability to apply online.
With Craft CMS, we were able to:
- Directly integrate the ATS with the frontend through an API.
- Automatically map vacancies to dynamic pages.
- Make content editing and management easy for staff.
- Deliver a fast, accessible, and visually appealing site.
This case demonstrates Craft CMS’s strength in complex integrations while maintaining user-friendliness.
Craft CMS vs WordPress vs Drupal
When comparing Craft CMS to WordPress and Drupal, key differences stand out. Craft CMS excels in flexibility due to its fully customizable structure. WordPress mainly offers flexibility through plugins, while Drupal, though powerful, can be complex.
In terms of security, Craft CMS is a clear winner. WordPress often faces vulnerabilities due to third-party plugins, while Drupal provides solid security but requires substantial technical know-how.
Craft CMS also shines in user experience, offering a highly intuitive backend for content managers. WordPress is straightforward but limited beyond standard templates, whereas Drupal has a steeper learning curve.
Headless support is another area where Craft CMS stands out, providing extensive support via GraphQL and REST APIs, whereas WordPress and Drupal offer these capabilities but with more limitations and complexity.
Performance-wise, Craft CMS consistently delivers rapid performance thanks to its lightweight architecture. WordPress depends heavily on hosting and plugins, and Drupal, although powerful, demands significant resources.
The future of CMS technology according to Pàu
Michael Thomas believes the term CMS is evolving: “Craft CMS is becoming more of a CMF — a Content Management Framework.” It’s not just a website tool but a central part of a digital ecosystem. With AI integration gaining prominence, tasks like SEO optimization, content recommendations, file naming, and metadata management are becoming increasingly automated. Craft CMS is actively embracing these AI enhancements.
Accessibility is also growing in importance. Craft CMS currently stands as one of the few CMS solutions whose backend is WCAG-compliant, essential for governments and large organizations.
No black box for clients
Technical CMS systems can seem daunting, but at Pàu, we ensure clients retain control:
- Engaging clients from project inception.
- Translating technical choices into clear, understandable language.
- Setting up the author environment to be user-friendly for everyone.
“We rarely receive post-project queries about usage. The barrier to entry is extremely low. Over 98% of clients manage everything independently without issues.”
You’re in charge of your content
Craft CMS is a future-proof choice for organizations prioritizing flexibility, security, and user-friendliness. As a Verified Partner, Pàu is your ideal guide for maximizing the potential of Craft CMS.
“You’re in charge of your content. The system adapts to your organization, not the other way around.”
